Some of the Stories of Life Transformations
As mentioned above there are 42 children are living in the
NHCH, that means there are 42 different moving stories. However
5 selected stories are given below in alphabetic order.

Barnabas
Age: 12 Years
Barnabas is the youngest of 5 children to his parents. His
father was a wood cutter, only bread winner to his family.
However he sue to consume heavy drinks thus spending all of
his earnings on it, so use to barrow money. Heavy debts made
him go for suicide. give up life under a running train He
is in 5th Grade. . Barnabas latter had to go through the pain
of seeing his father is mangled body minus the head. Imagine
the terrible agony in this little heart!! He was left alone
on the streets without proper education and food. The President
of Helping Hands India brought this child to shelter, our
Home. In the beginning Barnabas was not able to concentrate
on anything. Each night was spent in horror as he wet the
bed on seeing nightmares of his father’s death. After
much counselling he has able to come out of this trauma. His
loves and enjoys athletics. He shows much respect to his elders.
He is an excellent artist. His ambition is to become a Pastor.
He stands among the first three grades in the class at school.

Ganga (Padma)
Age: 12 Years
Ganga is one amongst of the 5 children for her parents. She
lost her mother at an early age. After 5 months of her mother’s
death her father brought these children to the New Hope Children
Home. He was unable to take care of the five children and
he had plans to marry his wife’s sister so he wanted
to get rid of the kids. When this girl was brought to our
Home she was 7 years old and now she is 12 years old. Ganga
is a sweet child. She is very affectionate and soft in nature.
Ganga is good at her and ranks 5th in her class. She has a
good memory. Ganga’s favuorite subject is English. Her
hobbies are dancing and painting. Her favorite colour is pink.
Her ambition is to become a Doctor. She is studying in 6th
standard at St. Mary's School, Bangalore

Karthik. R
Age: 13 Years
He is the youngest child in the family. He has two elder sisters.
Karthik’s father abandoned the family. Having three
children, his mother was unable to take care of them all.
Hence she brought Karthik to our Home. Karthik had the bad
habit of stealing other people’s belongings. By the
grace of our Lord and through our constant struggle he has
come out of this bad habit. He has become very honest, hard
working and transparent child. Karthik likes to learn English.
His favorite colour is yellow. His ambition is to become a
doctor. His favorite game is Cricket and football. He is an
excellent athlete and has won many shields. He is also selected
for special couching classes in football. He has very good
grasping power and learns quickly. He is studying in the 8th
Standard at St. Mary's School

Nakshatra
Age: 5 Years
She is the youngest child of her parents. At an early age
she lost her both the parents. Her Grandmother who is a beggar
used to take care of this child. Nakshathra was having only
one meal per day. One day her Grandmother passed away and
leaving her and her other siblings on the street. Village
leaders came to know about our home and they brought this
child to our Home. Nakshthara is and active in studies. She
has good grasping power which she uses to memories her lesson.
Her ambition is to become a doctor. She is studying in the
1st Grade at St. Mary’s School, Bangalore.

Prashanth . S
Age: 13Years
Prashanth is from Tamilnadu, a neighboring state. He lived
with his grand parents and was never sent to school but had
to work as a daily labourer in the fields. He was able to
earn Rs. 10 per day with which one can buy only a loaf of
bread. When he came to our Home he said he had never seen
rice before. Millet Seed and water was their daily food. His
parents are drunkards and used the entire child’s income
on alcohol. After joining Home his life style is totally changed.
He is a very active. He is a confident child. His favorite
subject is Tamil and favorite colour is black. His life’s
ambition is to become a Doctor. He likes to read books and
play cricket. He is very sensitive to people’s needs.
He is studying in the 7th Standard.

Raju
Age: 14 Years
Raju’s father was a drunkard. One day he had no money
for drinking and bugged his wife to give him money. When she
refused to give him money, he killed her and then he escaped
from the village. Raju was 8 months when this incident took
place. Raju’s aunty took him and started to take care
of him but she never sent him to school. Raju used to work
in a construction work and used to bring the money and give
to his aunty. His aunty started to enjoy his labor and sent
her children to school. One day a Pastor could see the pathetic
condition of Raju and brought him to our Home.
At present Raju’s age is 14 years but he does not know
to read and writer. We have joined him in the school. He is
admitted for the 6th grade but sits in the 1st grade because
he does not know to read and write. He is very kind and loving.
He likes to help others. He is hard worker. His ambition is
to study well and come up as a bright light. He is picking
up in his studies.

Sharada
Age: 4 Years
Sharada is the youngest in the family. Her father abandoned
her mother and got married to another woman. She landed up
on the streets with her mother and sister. Her mother got
married to another man and gave birth for two children. The
step father use to reject the first husbands children and
he was abusing Sharad through lightening a cigar on her body.
Her mother was helpless. At last her mother found our home
and brought Sharad and her sister laxmi to the Home. When
Sharad came to our Home she had no smile on her face and she
used to withdraw from the fellowship. After 6 months she started
build the confidence on us and now she smiles, jumps, plays
and enjoys her life at home. She is active. Short tempered.
Dare to do any given work. She is reserved. She is sharp in
learning. She wants to become a doctor. She is studying in
the 1st grade at St. Mary’s School
